PLEXSYS Unveils DLI 6.10: Upgraded Data Routing and Simulation Capabilities
Sep 3, 2024 | By: Sara Hatfield
CAMAS, WA (September 3, 2024) – The PLEXSYS Utilities Team is pleased to announce the Direct Link Interface (DLI) 6.10 software release. Bringing simulation to operational systems, DLI is a hardware and software solution for customers who require the interface of operational data link terminals and live participants with virtual or constructive participants in a simulated virtual world.
DLI's Common Use Cases
The software encompasses a range of vital functions in simulation and communication systems.
- Link 16 gateway role, routing Link 16 messages between a DIS network and external interfaces such as MIL-STD-3011, JREAP, and STANAG 5602 SIMPLE.
- DIS gateway role, routing DIS messages between two 2 or more DIS networks.
- Background traffic generation role, ingesting commercial air and marine traffic to provide a realistic traffic backdrop to simulations/exercises.
Release Focus
This 6.10 release focused primarily on expanding the data routing capabilities of DLI.
Changes include:
- Added support for exchanging VMF messages over Improved Data Modem (IDM)
- Improved local network sockets to include support for localhost
- Updated DIS Entity Type country enumeration to be derived from AIS MMSI country data
- Fixed Entity Binding dialog to resize to content
- Added detection for duplicate Mode 3 codes when processing entity bindings
- Added support for routing generic TCP traffic in DLI
- Unit test improvements
"We are committed to providing our customers with the most advanced and comprehensive simulation and training solutions," said Davor Braut, DLI product manager at PLEXSYS. “DLI 6.10 is a testament to our commitment to excellence and our focus on meeting the evolving needs of our customers.”
