PLEXSYS Innovation Team to Present DAAPR at 2020 SIW

CAMAS, WA (February 6, 2020) – Imagine you want to debrief a mission in different places at the same time. Whether multi-crew first responder training or large-scale multi-national defense exercises, total mission effectiveness starts at planning and goes through debriefing the entire team, not just those in the room. Shared debriefing is how training becomes learning; how practice becomes a success.
The old standard was the Distributed Debrief Control Architecture (DDCA). The DDCA struggles when the network isn’t perfect, and extra tools are required to make it work. PLEXSYS created a more reliable way, which is more network-fault-friendly, more elegant, and easier to use and implement. PLEXSYS calls it Distributed After Action Playback and Review (DAAPR).
PLEXSYS’ Director of Advanced Technologies, Dr. Alex Streit, will be presenting his paper “DAAPR: Distributed Debriefing in Heterogeneous Environments” at the 2020 Simulation Innovation Workshop (SIW) February 10 – 14, 2020.
The paper was submitted in response to the Simulation Interoperability Standard Organization (SISO) call for submissions focused on Modeling & Simulation (M&S), M&S standards, or a supporting concept or capability that impacts or enhances the development and use of M&S.
You can visit the 2020 SIW web page at www.sisostds.org/2020SIW.aspx for a complete list of presentations.

About DAPPR
Distributed After Action Playback and Review (DAAPR) is a fault-tolerant, easy to implement, extensible protocol and architecture for distributed debriefing. The DAAPR protocol distills the essential functionality needed to drive a multi-site and multi-system debriefing. This innovation is relevant to PLEXSYS because, as simulation becomes increasingly interconnected and multi-national, the need to debrief across multi-site and multiple security enclaves becomes critical. DAAPR allows us to do
