In September 2011, PLEXSYS Interface Products, Inc. teamed with Boeing Aircraft Corporation on the US Air Force AWACS Blk40/45 Mission Crew Training Set development and fielding. Slated for a December 2013 initial operational capability, the first MCTS will be installed at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma beginning in September 2012. PLEXSYS is contracted to integrate its Advanced Combat Operations Simulated Training (ASCOT) and PLEXComm software with Boeing’s Blk40/45 AWACS mission computing software to produce a realistic virtual AWACS mission crew training simulator. The project is on track with the first software milestone, Spiral 1 of three planned software Spirals, delivering on-schedule 30 March, 2012. In addition to software integration, PLEXSYS is contracted to deliver the simulated AWACS Blk40/45 crew console emulators.
