PLEXSYS Releases Direct Link Interface (DLI) 6.9

CAMAS, WA (April 12, 2023) – PLEXSYS Interface Products, Inc. (PLEXSYS), a leading provider of modeling and simulation technology solutions for defense and security, is proud to announce the latest release of the Direct Link Interface (DLI) software - version 6.9. This new release features several enhancements and capabilities that enable customers to bring simulation to operational systems.

DLI is a hardware and software solution that allows customers to interface operational data link terminals and live participants with virtual or constructive participants in a simulated virtual world. With DLI, simulators and real-world operational systems can exchange multiple data link message standards in real time, including Link 16, Link 11, AIS, CIB, UDL, and more.

One of the key enhancements in DLI 6.9 is the addition of the ability to generate Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) entities for live commercial air traffic and AIS traffic. This capability allows customers to simulate air and marine traffic in real time, providing a more realistic traffic backdrop to simulations and exercises.

In addition, DLI 6.9 also performs the Link 16 gateway role, routing Link 16 messages between a distributed interactive simulation (DIS) network and external interfaces such as MIL-STD-3011 Joint Range Extension Applications Protocol (JREAP) and Standardization Agreement (STANAG) 5602 Standard Interface for Multiple Platform Link Evaluation (SIMPLE). It also performs the DIS gateway role, routing DIS messages between two or more DIS networks, and performs the background traffic generation role, ingesting commercial air and marine traffic.

Other new features of DLI 6.9 include support for the Transfer Ownership of any entity to a high-fidelity EG system such as ASCOT, entity management enhancements for generated DIS entities, and NMEA GPS support for improved integration with mission systems.
